The visit to Hikari Orimono gave a valuable opportunity to the Textiles Team to acknowledge this producing process and its connection with the Fujiyoshida community. Our students comprehended that activities like workshops for local school children highlight the cultural importance of textiles and environmental consciousness. The team also explored Funakubo Orimono, observing traditional techniques utilizing natural elements like cherry tree branches for dyeing and Mount Fuji’s crystalline water. Due to this, the team recognized the significance of tradition preservation by hand of producers as Hikari Orimono.
