René Osorio, a Nicaraguan native, holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Boston University and a Master’s in Applied Macroeconomics from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He has experience working in international financial institutions and previously served as an economic advisor to the government of Nicaragua. During his term at the Inter-American Development Bank, he led several research projects across many sectors including education, to guide loan portfolio operations. Dr. Osorio has also published multiple books and peer-reviewed articles and presented his research at international economic conferences.
