Content: On October 10th, our session featured Professor Maria Alejandra from Universidad del Rosario (Colombia), who guided us through the world of Storytelling and the Hero’s Journey—how leaders and changemakers can use narrative to inspire, connect, and create meaningful impact 🌍.
Prof. Maria Alejandra introduced the Hero’s Journey—a timeless narrative map that guides audiences through call, challenge, and change. We explored its stages and archetypes, and why this structure powers books, films, and campaigns across cultures. From Adventure Time to Iron Man to Twilight, examples showed how story shapes emotions, memory, and meaning 🎬.
How do we turn ideas into a pitch that moves people? By telling a clear, human story. We practiced a simple arc our teams can follow for December in Yamanashi, Japan 🇯🇵: Hook → Problem → Hero → Mentor → Trials → Insight → Solution → Impact → Call to Action.
The goal: connect with the audience, show transformation, and make the next step unmistakable💡.
Finally, teams moved to their breakout rooms, where they continued building the first version of their pitch decks, applying the Hero’s Journey concept to their projects and pitching structure.
Next session: Rehearsal and feedback—one step closer to Yamanashi, and to stories that inspire real change.
