Welcoming New Intern | Yip Kah Hing

Welcome to Yip Kah King who will be joining GOROM Association as an intern beginning this Fall. We are very excited to have him! Below is a self-introduction and message from Yip Kah Hing.

Hello, my name is Yip Kah Hing and I am an undergraduate student at Eikei University of Hiroshima. I am from Singapore and my major is called Social System Design. I am studying various interdisciplinary fields consisting of the SDGs’ 5Ps: Peace, Partnership, People, Prosperity, and Planet. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a collection of 17 global goals designed to be the blueprint for achieving a better and more sustainable future for all. They were adopted by all UN Member States in 2015.

I like the Japanese language and am self-studying Japanese. I would like to be more proficient, especially since Japan is putting effort into SDGs. It is attractive to learn how Japan attempts and achieves the SDGs. Therefore, I decided to study in Japan and experience a social atmosphere different from my own environment.

I am always curious about new things and would like to try everything I can. Information Technology is crucial and essential to many industries, and I am passionate about learning the fundamentals of computers and the backend of a system. Learning a new thing is challenging but I like to learn new things so I can explore the world more. I have never worked at an NPO before, but GOROM Association offers opportunities to allow me to learn more about the Non-profit space. So far I have learned more about Latin America, which I have never been to before, but I am increasingly curious. I get the opportunity to learn things that are new to me at GOROM and I want to explore and learn new things while interning at GOROM.
