On this day, our host neighbors invited us to lunch \ud83e\udd79 They started with a peanut-based soup called Sopa de man\u00ed, then prepared chicken, rice, and dessert, and treated us so well that we felt sorry for them \ud83e\udd7a\ud83e\udd7a.<\/p>\n

When I first arrived in Bolivia, I was touched by the warmth of the Bolivian people who welcomed me so warmly even though I didn’t speak their language properly \ud83e\udd79\u2728.<\/p>\n\n

After that, I went shopping and then made a cake with two of my host families! (They lent me an apron full of Bolivian colors lol)<\/p>\n\n

Baking the sponge, decorating it with whipped cream… the cake was much tastier when everyone made it from scratch \ud83e\udd2d.<\/p>\n

They also wrote “Bienvenida a BOLIVIA (Welcome to Bolivia)” and our initials on the decorations, making it a uniquely special cake \ud83c\udf70.<\/p>\n

Calle Linares<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

For breakfast that day, we had the Bolivian classic breakfast API con Pastel \ud83d\ude0b.<\/p>\n

Api is a warm, sweet drink made by boiling purple corn. It contains cinnamon and cloves and makes your body warm and fuzzy!<\/p>\n\n

Pastel de queso is a crispy fried pie with cheese. It is usually eaten sprinkled with sugar!<\/p>\n\n

After breakfast, I went to Calle Linares<\/strong> to buy a hat to wear in Uyuni! This street is a very busy place with many tourists. Lots of souvenir shops and umbrella decorations on top \u2602.<\/p>\n

I got this hat here. It is very cute with a Bolivian-like pattern.<\/p>\n

For lunch we had fried chicken at the famous “Pollo Copacabana” in La Paz \ud83c\udf57\ud83d\ude0b.<\/p>\n

The outside was crispy and the inside was juicy and very tasty \ud83d\ude0c It is supposed to be eaten with hot sauce and it was excellent! I wish it would land in Japan\ud83d\ude0a.<\/p>\n\n

Peque Peque<\/h2>\n\n

Finally, I would like to introduce my host family’s pet cat, Pek\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n

Peque’s name is derived from the Spanish word “Peque\u00f1o,” meaning small.<\/p>\n

At first he was shy and would peek at me from a little distance, but as time went on, he got closer and closer, and by the end he was sleeping on my lap every night…! I’m sure you’ll agree….<\/p>\n\n

They are very cute and 100% healing, my favorite family.<\/p>\n
